A buddy of mine has started his journey through the many tales of H.P. Lovecraft after finding out that Guillermo Del Toros ( Pans Labyrinth) next movie project is based on one of Lovecrafts short stories ‘In The Mountains of Madness’. This is the shit for two reasons: A. By recommending my favorite stories I get to re-visit them vicariously through the eyes of a new comer to Howards world, and B. It reminds me to finish my own H.P. Lovecraft comic I started six years ago! Yeah, I have some trouble finishing stories because of new ideas. It’s the ADD. This story is my imagining of how Howard Phillips Lovecraft came up with his stories through writing ‘Strange Tales’. A lot of the classic Lovecraft elements and characters are there for instance, the main antagonists are Nyarlathotep, Wilbur Whateley, Obed Marsh and other big Lovecraft villains. I also add my own bits, like Howards simian sidekick Jacob Jermyn. So the good news is I’m going to release it on-line chapter by chapter. The bad news is I’m not doing that until October. I did mention that I gots the ADD (like everybody else) and I’ve other things I’m trying to release this month (comic-wise) and it’s Halloween so that makes more sense anyway. Deal with it.
