Doll Eater pt.1:Chaos City

Yeah, I make dolls. What of it. You think that’s embarrassing? Wait till you get your ass handed to you by someone who makes dolls. Just kidding.(not really) I heard someone call it ” soft sculpture” one day and I thought to myself: “That kinda sounds pretentious. But It also sounds better than saying I make dolls.” These are some characters from a kids cartoon I’m constantly trying to pitch. It’s called ‘Chaos City’ and if I haven’t posted about it before then I will soon. Apologies to those who “know me” know me, since all of these pictures are old chances are you’ve seen them already. But I’m making brand new stuff which is why I should post these out of the way.

Like I said, these are old shits. These were made right before I moved to NY to give you an idea. Stay tuned for more old soft sculpture and get ready for a new batch. Some stuff I’m making for Etsy.

Gods Stupid Little Creatures: Bunny

Bunny is a character from a very old comic I actually kinda finished called ‘ Gods Stupid Little Creatures’. He’s also the first thing I ever sculpted from wool. And he rides the ‘Jankasaurus rex’, so that’s pretty cool. Here’s a bunch of bunny stuff, including two pages from the ‘Gods Stupid Little Creatures’ thumbnails.

This comic was actually completed in 2003. Please forgive the art work, it’s old. I want to redo the whole thing in vector form but wool felting has taking the project down a different road…

Always Adventure Time!

So lately I’ve taken up wool felting. Something to add to the sculpting arsenal. I figure it would be cool to transition from drawings to reality via felt sculptures of the characters. Or doing an entire story in this manner. Or even go into stop animation!! Anyway, Here is my ode to Finn and Jake of ‘ Adventure Time ‘. Finn was easy. Jake was kind of a pain in the ass. Got some more wool felted pieces coming up..
